Skardu is a district in Gilgit-Baltistan in the extreme north of Pakistan. It is about 10 km wide and 40 km long valley, at the confluence of the Indus and the Shigar River, in the backdrop of the high peaks of Karakoram range. 2,438 meters above sea level, it borders with the Chinese province of Xinjiang and Indian-occupied Kashmir. The Skardu town is surrounded by mountains Karakoram range. The highest peak in Skardu District is K2, which is second highest in the world. The region has the 4 of the world's 14 Eight-Thousander peaks(8,000 m and above).

Skardu extremely beautiful and excellent scenery. It is famous for the many trekking and adventure spots around it. It is very popular tourist destination and tourist season starts in May and ends in October.
