A Message on Love | Advent 2024 With FIRST UNITED

Описание к видео A Message on Love | Advent 2024 With FIRST UNITED

Rev. Lauren Sanders, Indigenous Spiritual Care Chaplain for FIRST UNITED, shares a message on “love" in this week's Advent message.

Today's lectionary passage is from the Gospel of Luke 1:39-55.

Rev Sanders says, "Love is the connector of hope, joy, and peace. Hope, joy, and peace are empty words without love. Healthy love empowers, it builds communities that care for each other; love stands together with justice."

In this last Sunday of Advent, and as the beginning of Christmas approaches, how do you show love for Indigenous Housing Justice?

ABOUT FIRST UNITED First United seeks a just society by nurturing each person's spirit through essential community services, advocacy, and healing in the face of the often intersecting challenges of extreme poverty, historical and personal trauma, mental illness and oppression in the Downtown Eastside (DTES). We envision a neighbourhood where everyone's worth is celebrated and all people thrive. Our responsive, low-barrier programs serve low-income, under-housed and homeless individuals living in the DTES, regardless of age, race, gender, ethnicity, ability or faith. We strive to meet the direct needs of our community, supporting people to connect, heal, and build better futures for themselves and each other.
