Uploading long videos to your Instagram Story depends on the platform’s current time limits and how your content is formatted. As of Instagram’s latest update, users can upload videos up to 60 seconds in length directly to their stories without them being split into multiple clips. For example, if you have a 2-minute video, a splitter app can divide it into two 60-second clips that you can upload consecutively, maintaining the flow of the full video across multiple stories.

Popular free apps like “Story Cutter,” “CutStory,” or “Video Splitter” can help automate this process for both Android and iOS users. After splitting the video, you can upload each part manually to your story in the correct order to preserve continuity.

Keep in mind that Instagram Stories are best suited for shorter content. For longer videos, consider using Instagram Reels or uploading to your feed or IGTV, depending on the length.
