When giving feedback we base it not only on hard facts, but above all on our own opinions and sense of aesthetics.

Include the person to whom you are giving feedback in the conversation. Ask about the process - perhaps there is a good idea behind a solution that doesn’t convince you? Maybe it just needs some development?
