Hi everyone, I’m Christan Long!

I am an adventure traveler who grew up as a part of The Long Family of Gorge River. We are the most isolated family in New Zealand. We live 2 days walk from the nearest road on the South Island West Coast, between Haast and Milford Sound.

In this video, I will show you Flying to Gorge River, Long Family.

Flying home to the Gorge River is always really fun! My family (The Long Family) live 2 days walk or 30 minutes flight from the nearest road/town.

This time I decided to fly home with my mate Blair from Knights Point Air in Haast. He is an awesomepilot and loves flying in the area south of Haast.

We started at Neil's Beach airstrip and the flight takes us past Jacksons Bay, Cascade and Barn bay before slowly descending into Gorge River.

The Gorge River airstrip is a challenging bush airstrip for experienced pilots only. We had perfect conditions without a breath of wind and Blair had no problem landing safely.

This along with helicopters is how we get most of our food, mail and supplies into the Gorge River. I'm home at Gorge River for a few days and will be making a few other videos about my life here!
