Ant- encroachment drive conducted, forest land retrieved

To retrieve forest land from illegal encroachers an Anti encroachment drive has started by Forest department in collaboration with Forest Protection Force in North Kashmir's Boniyar Tehsil, Baramulla.

As per officials, notice had been served to people to vacate illegal encroachment but encroachers didn't vacated the forest land.

When contacted, DFO Baramulla Forest Range said that Notices for removal of raised non- conifer species were given to encroachers from time to time but they didn’t removed at their own. Besides the ecology of conifer forests get effected by non- coniferous plantation especially Salix & Popular as such there removal is necessary,"

He maintained that conversation of conifer forest into salix/ polpular grooves is purely unscientific.
