Cohiba Robusto Supremo Limited Edition 2014

Habanos S.A introduced the Limited Edition (Edicion Limitada) series in 2000 for their more premium brands, and uses certain vitolas that are not in current production.

This particular box, is a varnished slide lid box (a.k.a SLB) and bares the "Limited Edition 2014" labeling. (Edicion Limitada 2014). And the vitola is a special release for the LTD-ED series.

At first the wrappers were the only part of the cigars that had 2yrs of ageing on them and used from the upper portion of the plant. Because the leaves came from the upper portion of the plant, the sugar and oil content is alot higher and produced a darker wrapper after curing. In 2007, that all changed when they started to use tobacco that was aged for 2yrs for the wrapper, binder and filler.

To help identify the LTD-ED boxes and cigars, they added a second band with the words "Edition Limitada" and the year it was for. There has also been a sheet added to the inside of the box, indicating the cigars are part of the LTD-ED series with the number of sticks in the box, vitola, hand made and what area of plantations the tobacco comes from.

This series helped to spike an interest of "cigar collecting, and ageing."
