Lora's Park & Two Trains separated by 100 years

Описание к видео Lora's Park & Two Trains separated by 100 years

This is a view of "Lora's Park" with two trains running.

First we have an SECR "C" Class locomotive pulling a rake of wagons, mostly pulling coal around. The loco is in the beautiful Wainwright livery that it would have run in the first few years of the 20th century (although the wagons might not have been built then..)

Fast forward a hundred years:

Next we have the Class 47 "Prince Henry" (as the lad was christened) pulling the Royal Train. These coaches were out together in 1977 expressly for use by the royal family, then: a coach for the Queen, one for the Duke and one for the Prince of Wales. Charles has been known to get in the driver's seat from time to time).

This is an entire office in wheels, it's not just a way of travelling from one city to another, it has all the facilities for the Royals to work as they travel, with sleeping facilities for them and the staff and kitchen & dining for all. The train can be used for foreign dignitaries and the coaches can be arranged for many different uses. Yes, the younger members of the family can use the train too, they just don't have named coaches!
