Well the world has changed over the past few months. I filmed this entire video back in February of 2020 during our 1 month trip to Red Rock Canyon. Naomi and I had a blast bouldering on these amazing sandstone boulders and were lucky enough to have incredible weather.

Shortly after leaving Las Vegas the Covid-19 pandemic became an issue right outside our door step. As of right now the world is on pause and climbing among many other things have been cancelled for the time being. I hope that this video provides some psych and keeps people motivated for the future. We have to do our part and STAY HOME until further notice. However, the rocks will be waiting for us.

Boulders in order of appearance -

Orange Top Blue Sky V8

This is a boulder I had walked past many years ago and had always wanted to do. It is a wonderful crimp endurance line leading into a fun high ball finish. Sent this one third try after a near flash and a fumble on my second try. Have fun with the down climb on this one. It's exciting.

Spitting Venom V8

This is a fun small boulder which reminded me of a moon board problem. Only a few crimpy moves lead an easy top out. Many people start this boulder with a right heel hook around the arete, but I didn't like the body position. I decide to start with my feet under me and was lucky enough to flash this on. Typically you will see this as Spitting Venom V8/9 however I honestly believe it could even be easy for V8. Either way fun sharp climb.

Monkey Trench V9

This was an interesting climb. Honestly the stand start called Monkey Wrench V7 is absolutely the better line. This is a good boulder to do once you've done the stand and High Road V7 which is on the backside. In the book you will see this as Monkey Trench V10 but It really didn't even come close to the V10 grade. The moves at the beginning are dabby and weird, however once you find the correct positions everything under there feels like a jug. Just an Ok climb.

High Road V7

This was a powerful climb out a small roof. I found three different ways of doing this climb which would work for different styles and body types. The beta I decided to film was the beta I felt would work best for shorter climbers. Cool boulder and it stays in the shade all day which is an added bonus.

Bitch Slap 5 V9

Wow! such an incredible boulder. Bitch Slap 5 V9 had to be one of my favorites from the trip. Second try due to a foot slip mid boulder. It climbs out of a roof on perfect crimps with amazing movement. The way I do it in this video I would call the "modern beta" for Bitch Slap however, when we went back for Naomi to try it I managed to do it the old school way and found it to be just slightly more difficult but not by much. I believe the new way of doing it flows better and climbs through some amazing holds which were not used with the original method.

Lethal Design V12

What can I say, Lethal Design V12 was a dream line for me. I began working it in February 2019 during a one month stay in Las Vegas. Unfortunately, that year the weather was not on our side and we only had 6 days of climbing over the course of that month. I managed to get close on my last day during that trip, but walked away empty handed. Fast forward to February 2020 and I was back under this beauty. After an extra 8 days of work on this trip I finally found myself at the top. Fine tuning the beta so that I would have the most perfect minute of climbing of my life was the crux on Lethal Design. No mistakes and perfect execution of each move so that I would have enough gas at the end. It was a frustrating process that seemed would never come to an end. Luckily I was wrong and on 2-18-20 I made it to the top on my second try of the day. It's going to be hard to beat this one. I used beta from a variety of climbers and came up with some of my own. Connecting all those pieces properly was a challenge that I will never forget.
