Shiatsu is a treatment that has its roots in Oriental Medicine. It works on similar principles to Acupuncture, though it uses the listening touch of hands rather than needles. It promotes healing in areas of difficulty or pain and encourages deep relaxation. Gentle stretches and manipulations help to free the body. Shiatsu can target specific issues or it can support general good health. It is performed with the receiver fully clothed.

Shiatsu has a number of different styles and theoretical bases and practitioners around the world are still evolving new approaches to treatment. All practitioners will listen to you and fit the treatment to your particular needs.
