Propelling the Economy through Synergy

With over 32 years of experience in the Civil Service, Datuk Ravi Muthayah has held positions in some of the most important Government Ministries and departments in Malaysia such as the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs and the Economic Planning Unit. Currently, he serves as the Secretary General for the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities (MPIC).

MPIC is responsible for the development of the commodities sector which accounts for approximately 12-14% of the Malaysia’s total exports. As a trading nation with exports being an important income earner, the sector is one of the most important pillars of Malaysia’s economic growth.

Building on the importance of a symbiotic relationship between the Government and the private sector, Datuk Ravi highlights the opportunities that events such as the International Business Review ASEAN Awards 2020 present in driving new synergies in the business landscape of the nation. This dynamism will lay the foundations for a vibrant economy with thriving industries.
