VERBUND-NERS is a transformative teaching approach for capstone engineering design projects from the School of Chemical and Energy Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. The aim is to create the next generation of engineers.

The first stage is to create a 'project challenge' with VERBUND elements; Visionary goal, Explore, Reinforce, Brainstorming, United, Nexus and Design thinking.

The next stage is to provide the right environment based on NERS – Nurture, Evaluation, Rewards and recognitions, and Support system.

In the last stage, feedback is gathered and students reflect on their learning process.
