This incident follows a pattern of targeting high-profile figures in the Punjabi entertainment industry; in January, singer B Praak's associate Dil Noor reportedly received a similar extortion demand of 10 crore rupees. Authorities are currently tracking the communication trail to identify the exact location from which the threat originated. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has recently been linked to several threats against Bollywood and Punjabi celebrities, prompting increased vigilance by law enforcement agencies in Punjab and Maharashtra.
