“I Pini di Sirolo”
In località “I Pini” di Sirolo è presente l’unica area archeologica delle Marche nella quale è possibile visitare un settore di una necropoli picena. Tra le sepolture rinvenute si distingue la Tomba della Regina di Sirolo (VI sec a.C.), la più grande tomba gentilizia a circolo mai rinvenuta.
Sono stati recuperati due carri (una biga e un calesse), i resti di una coppia di muli, numerosissimi oggetti di ornamento riferiti alla dama e utensili di uso domestico.
Presso l’Antiquarium Statale di Numana è possibile ammirare gran parte dei numerosi reperti rinvenuti, mentre nel Centro Visite del Parco Naturale del Conero si trova esposta una ricostruzione della Tomba della Regina.

“I Pini di Sirolo” is the only archeological site within the Marche region featuring the remains of a Picene necropolis. Among other graves discovered, a monumental circular tomb named the Tomb of the Queen of Sirolo (6th century B.C.) stands out – specifically, the largest noble circle tomb ever discovered.
Two chariots (a curricle and a calash) were found inside the tomb, as well as the remains of two mules and numerous ornamental objects, furnishings, and household utensils.
Part of such lavish artifacts is exhibited at the State Antiquarium of Numana, while the Conero Natural Park visitors center features a reconstruction of the Tomb of the Queen.
