After Qatar, Kuwait & Iran Summon Indian Envoy Over Remarks On Prophet Mohammad | Nupur Sharma

Qatar, Kuwait and Iran have summoned Indian envoys and have registered strong protest against derogatory remarks made by BJP leaders on Prophet Muhammad. Pakistan PM has also issued a statement.

BJP has suspended Nupur Sharma from party and has also expelled Naveen Kumar Jindal. National spokesperson of the BJP Nupur Sharma had made objectionable remarks against Prophet Mohammed on a TV news Channel. BJP's Delhi media head Naveen Kumar Jindal had posted an alleged derogatory tweet against Prophet Mohammed. The suspension comes hours after the BJP issued a statement distancing itself from the controversial remarks made by both BJP leaders.

"BJP respects all religions. The party strongly denounces insult of any religious personalities of any religion. BJP does not promote such people or philosophy," the party said in a statement.

Following the suspension, Sharma has withdrawn her statement unconditionally. Qatar has summoned Indian Envoy over the issue.
