Opposition Leader Dr. Ibadullah, speaking to the media, said that if the Mines and Minerals Act is not in the province’s interest, the matter will be raised with the Prime Minister. “This act, being man-made, is naturally prone to flaws. Today’s was the second briefing session, and if government members are now opposing it, then why did the cabinet approve it in the first place?” he questioned.

Dr. Ibadullah also criticized the government’s intention to pass the proposed law “in the dark of night.” He stated that the ruling party members are tying the bill's approval to the PTI founder’s endorsement, which reflects internal dissatisfaction with the Chief Minister himself. "If the Speaker has now made the bill conditional on the PTI founder’s approval, then what was the point of calling a briefing in the first place?" he asked.
