Filmed in 4K 60FPS Videoed in East Dunbartonshire.

The building was designed by architect David Hamilton in 1837. The castle was built in a neo-Norman style of red sandstone, and construction took four years. The first owner was John Lennox Kincaid and his family. The building remained as a home until the First World War when it was temporarily used as a military hospital. This must have worked well as when Glasgow City Council were looking for locations for a new psychiatric hospital in 1925, Lennox Castle was chosen, and they bought the estate. In 1927, it was converted into a mental health hospital. It was originally revered as the most respected psychiatric hospital of its time... But, in the years that followed, there were constant reports of overcrowding and mistreatment of residents with disabilities. The Lennoxtown Hospital and its services closed down and demolished in 2002, leaving the original structure to stand in ruin.
