When S Jaishankar Retorted To Manish Tewari's 'Neighbour First' Policy Question | Parliament Today

S Jaishankar Parliament Speech: Speaking in Lok Sabha, Congress MP Manish Tewari attacked External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar over India's neighbourhood first policy. "Is there any neighbour of India which has the neighbour first policy?" asked Manish Tewari. Responding to the question on Maldives, S Jaishankar pointed at failures of Congress govt. "If there is a desire to somehow show the foreign policy of this govt in a bad light for political purposes, that is the member's privilege but then it is not my nature to make foreign policy partisan. But I would like to remind the member through you that the very Maldives he was talking about the companies were driven out in 2012," said Jaishankar reminding Manish Tewari of foreign policies under Congress. "But it is important we are mature and we don't get into punch scoring," he added.
