The Srimad Bhagavad Gita, also known as gita The Srimad Bhagavad Gita, often referred to as Gita is a Hindu scripture and is part of epic “The Mahabharata” which contains 700 verses. The Bhagavad Gita is set in a narrative framework of dialogue between Arjuna, the Pandava prince, and Lord Krishna, the charioteer guide of Arjuna and an avatar of Lord Bishnu. At the start of the Kurukshetra War between the Pandavas and the Kauravas, Arjuna despairs thinking about the violence and death the war will causes in the battle against his kin and becomes emotionally pre-occupied with a dilemma and seeks the counsel of Lord Krishna, whose answers and discourse constitute the Bhagavad Gita.
