EIGHT BULLEID PACIFICS together for the first time in OVER FIVE DECADES!

More action from the historic Swanage Railway’s Strictly Bulleid II Pacific gathering of no less than EIGHT examples of the class, four unrebuilt ‘Spam Cans’, two rebuilt Light Pacifics and two Merchant Navy class examples (the first time two Merchant Navy locomotives have been seen together and double headed since the 1960’s!)

The locomotives in action were:

34053 'Sir Kieth Park'
34070 'Manston'
34072 '257 Squadron'
34081 '92 Squadron' * (sadly this failed on the Saturday and Sunday)
34092 'City of Wells'
35006 'Peninsular & Oriental S. N. Co.'
35018 'British India Line'

This really was a preservation milestone to see such a collection of one class of locomotive together in steam working trains, so here are a selection the movements from Friday afternoon at Swanage! | 07.06.2024
