Saturday 4th October 2025 was the second day of the Autumn Steam Gala at the Mid Hants Railway (The Watercress Line), with all shots taken at Ropley. The theme for this year’s Autumn Steam Gala was Master and Apprentice, consisting of three of the home fleet of steam locomotives at the MHR. Becoming the first LSWR S15 Class in preservation to wear an early crest is Urie S15 30506 owned by the Urie Locomotive Society, SR Rebuilt Merchant Navy Class 35005 ‘Canadian Pacific’ owned by The Watercress Line Heritage Railway Trust, and LMS Ivatt Class 2 2-6-2T 41312 owned by MHR Limited. The two visiting locomotives for this year’s Autumn Gala were LNER A4 Class 60007 ‘Sir Nigel Gresley’ owned by the Sir Nigel Gresley Locomotive Trust in Crewe, and SR Rebuilt Battle of Britain Class 34059 ‘Sir Archibald Sinclair’ owned by the Battle of Britain Locomotive Group at the Bluebell Railway.

Driver experiences at Ropley station were offered by Peckett R3 Class 0-4-0ST 1788 'Kilmersdon' owned by the Somerset & Dorset Railway Trust (SDRT) and part of the home fleet of steam locomotives at the MHR. Ropley Miniature Railway welcomed two miniature steam locomotives visiting from the South Downs Light Railway in Pulborough; these were LMS Royal Scot Class 6100 ‘Royal Scot’ and LMS Stanier Mogul 13245. Today they carried 394 passengers within 33 trips, with the majority of their trips being double-headed.
