European Robin Erithacus rubecula male singing his territorial song

Описание к видео European Robin Erithacus rubecula male singing his territorial song

This the final part of a trilogy of films of this male European Robin Erithacus rubecula singing his heart out on 30th April 2017. More Robin films may be seen here:    • European Robins   . By the time that the final clip was filmed he had been singing for almost ten minutes from branches in the middle of a Willow Salix sp. Usually he would sing a softer sub-song to the photographer but on this occasion he was singing at full volume. When the weather was windy he tended to sing from more sheltered places and these intimate views were obtained by the photographer sticking his camera (and head) into the foliage for some of the sequences. This Robin was remarkably tolerant of cameras (and photographers) and he was always unconcerned by the process of being filmed or photographed - even if the lens was only a matter of inches away. This enabled some very close images to be obtained since he was first photographed at the beginning of February 2016.
