Today, in our sports encyclopedia series we will talk about Club Tennis.
Club Tennis is a modified variant of regular tennis that includes a new team oriented way to play the current sport which involves a time clock, penalties, and more players on a slightly bigger court.
The basic objective of the game is to score more points than the opponent.
The game takes place on a basketball sized court except that it is slightly bigger.
Each team consists of four players except the benchers and substitutes.
The game begins with a service where the server has 20 seconds to execute a server.
The target for the player is to make the ball land on the opposite side of the court without the opponent being able to hit it back.
The target for the opponent player is to hit the ball back within one bounce.
The game is played for a total duration of 90 minutes that is divided into two equal halves of 45 minutes each.
A 5 minute overtime is given.
Each team is given three timeouts per half.
The play only stops for timeouts, injuries, delays, and replays.
There are instant replays for close calls where verification is required to come to an accurate decision.

The penalties in the game include:
a. Faults
b. Early Serve
c. Late serve
d. No serve
e. Delay of game
f. Injuries
g. Consecutive Serves
h. Illegal Substitution

When a penalty is given, a team loses one player per infraction.

A player needs four points to win the game and the points are known as 15 (1 point), 30 (two points), 40 (three points), and the fourth would result in the winning point and the end of that game.
The player that manages to get four points before the opponent is declared as the winner.
