Ferrari is working hard to improve its performance and competitiveness in the 2025 Formula 1 World Championship. The legendary Italian racing team knows it must prove—both to itself and to the entire Formula 1 community—that it has a winning package and a championship-caliber car. This is the deeper goal Scuderia Ferrari is chasing in the second half of the season, starting with the Belgian Grand Prix at the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit.

Is it already too late to reach the ambitious objectives set at the start of the season? Most likely yes—but from both a sporting and psychological standpoint, it remains vital to reset Ferrari’s momentum and return to fighting at the front.

At the Mugello circuit—Ferrari’s own test track in Tuscany—the team has begun an important two-day test featuring all test formats allowed by FIA rules: Promotional Events (Filming Day), Demonstration Events, and TPC sessions (Testing of Previous Cars).

On Day 1, the Ferrari SF-23 from the 2023 season was run extensively by test drivers Guanyu Zhou and Antonio Fuoco, managed by the Maranello-based test team. The current SF-25 completed only a few demonstration laps with Antonio Giovinazzi behind the wheel, using the standard race configuration that has been used in the first 12 rounds of the 2025 season.

These laps were conducted to collect telemetry data and establish a direct comparison with the updated version of the SF-25, which features a newly designed rear suspension system developed under the guidance of new technical director Loïc Serra.

The goal is clear: compare the baseline with the upgrade and evaluate whether the changes can transform the SF-25 into a more consistent and competitive car, particularly under varying fuel loads, tire compounds, and circuit layouts.

🔧 There are also signs Ferrari’s engineers may be using this session to refine the power steering system.
