Unity Drive Simulator – Session 7 | Bonus Challenges: Obstacles, Prefabs & Opposing Vehicles

Welcome to Session 7 of the Junior Programmer Series in Unity — a bonus challenge session where we take our Drive Simulator game to the next level!

In this session, you’ll extend the driving simulator built in the first five sessions by creating advanced physics-based obstacles and introducing moving vehicles from the opposite direction, turning the project into a more realistic and challenging gameplay experience.

🔹 What You Will Learn in This Session

✔️ How to convert obstacles into reusable prefabs
✔️ Building pyramid, wall, and tower (tawa) structures using crates
✔️ Using Rigidbody physics for realistic destruction
✔️ Precise object alignment using vertex snapping (V key)
✔️ Organizing complex structures using parent GameObjects
✔️ Creating a new gameplay scene for advanced challenges
✔️ Writing a simple C# movement script for AI-controlled vehicles
✔️ Adding opposing traffic that the player must avoid

🎮 Gameplay Challenges Covered

🚧 Challenge 1:
Replace single obstacles with destructible structures:

Pyramid obstacle

Wall structure

Tower / stacked obstacle

🚘 Challenge 2:
Add moving vehicles (bus, van, car) coming from the opposite direction:
