Recognized from the start as a rapper with massive skills, she's worked with some of the game's most revered talents, from producer 9th Wonder to DJ Premier to Kendrick Lamar. A thoughtful writer from the get-go, she reminded fans of her artistic message - Culture Over Everything - on the cover to her 'Thank H.E.R. Now’ mixtape. With a parade of incisive videos to her credit, she's refined her approach through the years – there’s more authority in her voice with each passing year, and she never shies away from political opinions, identity issues and racial commentary.
