O Lofos is a stunning contemporary home designed by Block722, located on the northern foothills of Mount Thrypti in Crete, Greece. Spanning 280 square meters, this private residence harmoniously integrates with its natural surroundings, offering breathtaking views of mountains, plains, and the Mediterranean Sea. The design incorporates tiered levels to adapt to the sloping terrain, creating a seamless and relaxing environment. The house is composed of interconnected low-lying volumes, blending indoor and outdoor spaces with materials like wood, stone, and terrazzo. Inspired by Scandinavian minimalism and Japanese architecture, the design emphasizes simplicity, clean lines, and a tactile connection to nature. Crafted in collaboration with local artisans, the residence features bespoke furniture and architectural details, including the ANATA collection and a commissioned sculpture by Greek artist Pantelis Chandris. Rooted in the philosophy of slow living, O Lofos offers a tranquil retreat that celebrates the natural beauty, rich heritage, and relaxed lifestyle of Crete.
