Out of the rugged hills of Spanish Town comes a sound long hidden from the people — the mighty King Selassie Sound System with their forgotten work, Rising from Zion. Recorded in 1972, in the heat of struggle and revelation, these tapes carry the heartbeat of the Nyabinghi drum, the thunder of militant bass, and chants of redemption for the sufferers.

This album was never granted a proper release, passed hand to hand as whispers among the brethren, a spiritual message meant to strengthen the Rastaman in the days of tribulation. Each track resounds like a call to Zion, a cry against Babylon, a meditation on freedom and faith.

Rising from Zion stands as both testimony and prophecy — a lost chapter of roots reggae, unearthed for the first time, carrying the vibration of 1972 straight to your soul.
