Dr. Jane Goodall Gets A Big Hug

If there’s anyone that deserves to be hugged by a chimp is Dr. Jane Goodall. She discovered nearly 60 years ago that chimps are not so different from us. But one chimp that grew close to Dr. Jane was Wound. This poor chimp was caught up in the illegal bushmeat trade and got separated from her family by poachers. Moreover, she was practically kidnapped from her home at a young age. But things took a turn for the better when she met Jane and her staff.

Not only did they nurse her back to health, but also performed the first chimp-to-chimp blood transfusion successfully on her! After all the love, support, affection, and medical help that Wounds received, she didn't know how to say thank you to the person who saved her life. So she resorted to a simple yet heartfelt hug that was luckily caught on the camera.

Whale Dances To Say Thank You

Humans have managed to intervene in every corner of the world, even in the ocean! The female humpback whale had been entangled in a huge mess of crab traps and lines. The weight of all the traps was actually pulling her down. In fact, there was even a line tugging in her mouth. Luckily, there was a family of divers and fishermen nearby who decided to help.

The team worked for hours, carefully cutting through the rope that entangled the whale. Finally, they were able to free her! But she didn’t just swim away. She started swimming in what seemed like circles. And then she came back to the divers, one by one, to give them a gentle nudge as a little thank you! Who knew whales were such gentle giants?
