Philmac UTC® – The Universal Connection
The Swiss Army Knife of Pipie Fittings – the ultimate in pipe connection flexibility; designed for connecting pipes that are made from a variety of different materials, sugh as:
• Polyethylene
• Galvanised Iron
• PVC
• Copper
• ABS
• Lead
• Stainless Steel

The Philmac UTC (Universal Transition Coupling) fitting consists of the following key components:

• The nut which is made from polypropylene;
• The split ring which is made from acetal and contains stainless steel grippers;
• The spacer which is made from polypropylene ; and
• The seal which is made from nitrile rubber.

Assembly:
Philmac UTC is assembled and ready to use in the open position – however, always ensure the nut is backed off with at least three threads showing to allow the pipe to pass freely.

Clearance between the fitting and the pipe allows for easy insertion of the pipe.

Witness mark the pipe against the flange on the fitting, then insert the pipe until the witness mark reaches the nut. This will ensure the pipe passes the seal and is inserted to the correct depth which is up to the flange.

As the nut is tightened the split ring starts to grip the pipe. As this process continues the split ring grips further and this pulls the pipe and split ring further into the fitting fully compressing the seal.

Disassembly:
The split ring has loosened its grip on the pipe.
The seal has reverted to the relaxed state.
The pipe can now be easily removed from the fitting.
