In this sermon, Pastor Jek expounds on the Apostle Paul's message to the Gentiles in Ephesians 2:11-22, where Paul urges them to remember their former state without Christ—alienated from the community of Israel, strangers to God's covenants, without hope, and without God in the world. Yet, Paul reminds them that through Christ's blood, they have been brought near, and peace has been established between Jews and Gentiles. Both are now reconciled as one body through the cross. They are no longer foreigners or outsiders, but fellow citizens with the saints, standing firm on the foundation of the Gospel, with Christ as the cornerstone. Together, they are being built into His body, His dwelling place, His temple.
Likewise, may we reflect on our own helpless, pitiful, lowly state without Christ and rejoice in His atoning sacrifice on the cross. Through His blood, we too have been brought near, given peace, and united as part of His body—the church.
