Описание к видео Fulda, GERMANY 🇩🇪 I Walking tour I 4K/60fps

The baroque city of Fulda in the Rhön offers its visitors a unique baroque old town with many sights, small streets, restaurants and shops. This time I only got 3 sights to visit and I will write which 7 more sights to see in Fulda which I will visit again soon

The Old Town Hall - one of the most popular photo motifs in Fulda
The Old Town Hall, located right next to the parish church on Borgiasplatz, is undoubtedly one of the most photographed buildings in the baroque city. It is a brilliant example of how the people of Fulda treat their historic building with care. Until the late 1960s, the building was not very representative. The imposing gable and Gothic turrets had been lost over the centuries, and the second floor had a simple hipped roof. It is thanks to the architect and cultural award winner of the city of Fulda, Ernst Kramer, that the building was extensively partially reconstructed in 1968/70 based on historical models - a project that was not without controversy at the time. Today, the people of Fulda are happy about the decision made at the time, as the old town hall is one of the most beautiful medieval buildings in the entire city center.

Stadtschloss Fulda
The Fulda city palace, today the seat of the city administration, was built between 1708 and 1714 as the residence of the Fulda prince abbots and later the prince bishops. Architect was the master builder Johann Dientzenhofer, commissioned by Prince Abbot Adalbert I von Schleifras. It was that epoch that has shaped the cityscape of Fulda to this day: Parallel to the construction of the palace, the magnificent baroque cathedral of St. Salvator (1704 - 1712) was built opposite - also based on plans by Dientzenhofer. The city palace is a four-wing complex with two front wings that enclose a courtyard. Some of the foundation walls and tower of the four-wing complex still come from the previous buildings, the old abbot's castle and a Renaissance castle from the 17th century.

Fulda Cathedral – the symbol of Fulda and the center of the baroque district
The Cathedral of St. Salvator in Fulda, also known as the High Cathedral in Fulda, is not only the cathedral church of the diocese of Fulda, but as the burial church of Saint Boniface, it is also the destination of the Boniface pilgrimage.

The Michaelskirche - one of the oldest churches in Germany
The Michaelskirche in Fulda is one of the most important sacred buildings in Germany and is considered the earliest replica of the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Jerusalem. It was built between 819 and 822 under Abbot Eigil as a mortuary chapel of the Fulda monastery in the Carolingian style and has been expanded and modified several times over the centuries.
