Honda CR-V 7-seater 2024 review: VTi L7 turbo | Better than Mitsubishi Outlander and Nissan X-Trail?

The 2024 Honda CR-V mid-size SUV has made waves in Australia since its launch earlier this year, impressing with its strong combination of style, technology, practicality, performance and efficiency, including the all-important availability of a hybrid powertrain.

That said, most of the CR-V's available variants are of the five-seat variety, which is a seating configuration that's common in its segment. However, there are also seven-seat versions, which are few and far between for vehicles in this size category. To that end, the three-row Mitsubishi Outlander and Nissan X-Trail are the key rivals here.

In this expert review, CarsGuide Contributing Journalist Emily Agar and her family of three spend a week living with the CR-V's VTi L7 to find out just well the Japanese model stacks up as a seven-seater. After all, the new-generation model is larger than its predecessor, so it should be an improvement.
