Cyclone Freddy's Intensity Increases, Threatening Madagascar: Short Update

Cyclone Freddy has once again been in the middle of an impressive intensification phase. Current estimates show that Freddy is a powerful Category 4 storm (on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale) and is showing little to no signs of weakening.

Cyclone Freddy remains far out to sea, however, confidence continues to grow that the system may eventually impact the islands of Rodrigues, Mauritius, La Reunion, and/or Madagascar next week. While exact impacts can not be fully detailed this far out, it is highly recommended that those watching from the islands mentioned review their cyclone plans, and be ready to enact those plans when needed.
