I’ve done over 2,000 gigs in the last 4 years. Looking back, it’s been a great experience.

However, it’s important to note that doing all these gigs for money to make a living and most of them initially with a laptop, taking mickey mouse style song requests, Emcee’ing etc has infringed on my trajectory to get higher level gigs because thats the image I’ve conveyed. Its superceded my experience or auaifications. Maybe i still suck, maybe i dont. It’s not for me to decide.

I take full ownership for it, just like I would a piano dropping on my head. The social proof and aesthetics people require in this day and age to give you credit or their own reverence, support or collective validation cannot be underscored.

Ultimately, you are doing what you want or you’re not. People sense it, whether they know it or not.

If you want to be a club or festival DJ, emulate them as much as you can even if you are required to be a chameleon and say yes to various types of gigs. Use a usb, learn to produce quality music and remixes (not just quick edits mashups) I know im doing that here in this vid lol.. Find your vibe/charisma and stick with it.

I’m not giving up. If I were to I would have a long time ago.. like the first day I got my gear and couldn’t get sound to come out of my studio monitors 🤣
