This was the heat race from hell so I feel obligated to explain what happened. We combined the rigid and the suspended cars for both the heat and feature race, they may look the same but they are 100% different in every single way. The biggest factors that came into play during this race was the fact that suspended cars have spotters and very good brakes on all 4 tires, whereas the rigid cars have no spotters and only rear brakes that barely work. The brakes are designed to slow the cars down but not stop fast because if you lock up the rear tires you will spin in front of the pack and open yourself up for getting t-boned. 3:55 A car at the rear of the pack spun and the yellow flag came out as mark and I were driving under the flag stand, the leader was a suspended car and his spotter told him a yellow flag came out and got on the brakes coming out of turn 1. Not having seen the back stretch flagger mark and I both came out of turn 1 full throttle. Unfortunately Mark made hard contract in the back of the leader and I barely missed it. Because I never saw any caution flags I thought this contact on the back stretch was what brought out the caution. 5:36 After rolling around under caution the previously leader passed me under caution which I thought would be corrected by the flagger but wasnt which pissed me off. It was only after the race I learned that we had been under caution for a half a lap before they all wrecked so that was in fact where he was supposed to start. 9:43 After another quick caution we took the green and the exact same situation happened as lap one, the spotter tells the car in front of me to slow down and I go full speed into the back of him because I hadn't seen any yellow flags or caution lights yet. 10:00 My hood got popped up and I started kicking it trying to get it back down because I'm having a hard time seeing. 11:26 We cross them up and I was tightening my belts when the green came out 1 lap earlier than it should have catching me off guard and completely fucking my restart and the guy behind me. At this point I was so pissed off I thought about just pulling off the track because I'm caught out on the outside and dropping straight to the back but I thought better of it, but then I stewed for a few more laps till I saw the white flag and I said, yeah fuck this and pulled off. I was mad at the situation, I was mad at the flagger for another botched start that affected more than just me on the restart and I was mad that both of my cars had just sustained damage in the course of 10 minutes.
