We headed into one of Harbin’s busiest morning markets and searched for the hidden street food locals actually eat — the stalls with no lines, no hype, and some of the most surprising flavours we’ve found in China.

From sizzling breakfast favourites to unexpected local specialties, this early morning food hunt shows a completely different side of Harbin’s street food culture. Morning markets in Northern China are where locals grab breakfast, socialise, and start their day — and some of the best food disappears before most tourists even wake up.
