!Spoilers Ahead!
So, I decided to try Fort Solis after seeing some reviews on Steam. Right off the bat, I was really impressed with how the game looks. The visuals are top-notch, and I could tell the developers really put a lot of effort into creating a believable atmosphere. The ending, though... that was a bit of a cliffhanger. It's a shame because I was left wanting more, especially since there hasn’t been any word from the studio about a sequel. I’d love to see where the story goes next.
Gameplay Highlights:
Visuals: Man, this game looks pretty. The environments are detailed, and the lighting is so well done, especially when it comes to creating tension in those darker, more mysterious areas. It’s a game that really shows off what Unreal Engine 5 can do.
Sound Design: The soundtrack really amps up the tension. It adds so much to the atmosphere, especially in those moments when you're expecting something to jump out at you. It keeps you on the edge of your seat, even though it’s not a typical horror game.
Narrative: The dialogue here is well-written. It adds so much depth to the game and makes you care about what’s going on. I really liked the story, but the ending left me hanging. It feels like there should be more to it, and I was hoping for a little closure.

Critical Reception:
So, Fort Solis has had a pretty mixed reception overall. Some people, like Kotaku, felt that while it looks great, the gameplay itself was a bit slow and didn’t quite hold up. They said it’s "nice to look at and unbearably boring" — which is a bit harsh, but I can see where they’re coming from.
On the other hand, GameSpot thought the game was solid overall. They pointed out that while there were a few weak points, the story and atmosphere made up for it.
Conclusion:
All in all, I think Fort Solis is a really cool game, especially if you're into narrative-driven experiences. It's got great visuals, solid sound design, and a story that pulls you in, even though the ending leaves a lot to be desired. If you’re into slower-paced games or like the suspense genre, this is worth checking out.
And don’t forget to hit up Steam for the game and check out the reviews if you’re on the fence. Let me know what you think if you decide to give it a go!
