Sometimes when you receive placement information about children, a child may be labeled as having a “history of aggression.” It’s important to remember that aggression is a trauma response and may not accurately describe what the child is experiencing and needing.

In this video, I show some considerations and questions to ask so that you can really understand what the child needs from you.

Kids in foster care may showcase trauma responses. It’s important that we look beneath the behavior and understand their needs and triggers so we can best support them in our home.
