A Day On The G Scale Sierra Northern Railway

Описание к видео A Day On The G Scale Sierra Northern Railway

This video was shot on 2/3/24 where I follow my version of the “Hill Job” on its journey from Oakdale to Standard and return. I added switching out the grain transfer facility, which typically does not fall under the prototype “Hill Job” duties, but I thought it would be a nice touch😊. All the arrival and departure times depicted in my captions are real time at the time the videos took place. Yes it really takes that long to make a round trip with switching out different facilities on the way. When I switch out facilities, I perform all switching moves in real time, meaning I simulate the time it takes to perform necessary safety checks, set hand brakes, walk the train, etc. I cut most of this out of the video of course, with the exception of a couple locations, but I think you get the general idea. All train sounds including coupler clanks and brakes squealing are all real sounds that come from the Railpro installed in the locomotives. My power are two Gensets and the addition of an old weathered UP Dash 9 for extra power on this trip😁. The Sierra of course does not own or use a dash 9, but I only have so many Gensets and often like to use the extra power so I don’t burn out motors on my smaller locomotives. There is no voice narration or music in this video as when I made the video and put it together, I had not yet began to incorporate those additions at that time. The switching moves and sounds in this video are as realistic as it gets for G scale. I truly hope I have created a G scale video where the viewers feel they are watching the prototype😀. The locomotives even spew diesel smoke exhaust from their stacks just like the prototype. Sit back and enjoy a day on the G scale Sierra Northern Railway.
