i vividly remember the piano teacher who sat down with us to lecture us about the 4 in the major scale! avoid that note ...at all costs... that rant went on for at least 20 min 😉
some weeks ago i found Noah Kellmans video on playing outside like Brad Mehldau
such a cool video - i stole the concepts and tried to play them on my guitar
the most surprising and cool sound comes from a major chord with an add4! very interesting sound indeed!

01:05 playing the E major scale on the Fmaj7 chord
01:54 replacing the V chord with the IVm chord
03:00 a triad over an altered chord
03:42 tweaking a 36251 chord progression
04:42 tweaking the 26351 chord progression even more
