It is interesting to see how current knowledge and new knowledge get to go together in an LLM. Into NotebookLM (with more tekst):

The main physical theories are advanced by exploration and the scientific method, not by discovery. Discovery is the wrong word. It is never about discovery but it is always about construction from making assumptions by initially making distinctions. Discovery implies that something already exists and since we have no complete machinery description for reality, we have no clue what it is made of or what really exists and it is only with some initial assumptions and distinctions that we build our theories and what we think might exist. This is by definition construction or if you will invention.
There is no mystery because there is no question of discovery versus invention. It will always be invention because it can not be discovery. There is no discovery in science because of the former point. There is no discovery in mathematics because of the distinctions that are necessarily being made to reason. These distinctions can not be known to exist in reality because in that case the question of what reality is made of has to be already answered and unfortunately it is not. In fact we can know that reality is not made of the distinctions we have made so far because these distinctions can not answer some basic questions on the continuity of reality when you only have discrete means to describe it.
