Awareness, in the beginning, is used to distinguish consciousness (or awareness) from its objects
(thoughts, feelings, sensations and perceptions). Most of the time our attention is involved with objects (thoughts, feelings, sensations and perceptions).

By noticing that there is ‘something’ aware of thoughts, feelings, sensations and perceptions, attention is drawn to the awareness as opposed to the objects. This establishes the presence of awareness.


I am the empty open space of awareness with sensations
flowing through me. Whatever it is that knows my experience remains consistently present throughout all
changing experience.
