Here is My model of the SS American Star, Which is nearing completion. I must say that it has turned out to be far better than I have first expected it to be. It really lives up to the great ocean liner that it is impersonating.

The superstructure is virtually complete and both funnels are attached. Most of the capstans,winches, hatches and bollards on the forecastle and well decks have been added, and fake rust is being applied to them. The ladder to the superstructure has been attached, as well as a few railings which are both made from brass. The sea has been sculpted out of polymer clay and fully textured with gel media, which awaits painting and glazing. Both anchors are attached as well as the ships starboard name and port. Lifeboat davits, kingposts, the masts and rigging have yet to be applied.

note One thing I highly value is accuracy, therefore extensive research on my part has allowed me to build the model with a high level of accuracy. However, in some areas there is a lack of knowledge and now that the ship is gone forever we may never know that the ship looked like completely. In these areas I have made educated guesses so it makes sense when it is looked at. Artistic license has been held to minimum to give a accurate impression of what the ship really looked like to viewers.
