Hitting the first target switch on bullseye and keeping the 2000 bonus going can be pretty tricky. A lot of times after hovering from the air dash, I tend to either fly higher or lower than I expected. This makes aiming more difficult, not to mention that you need to keep your momentum going after you land. If you run out of flight guage and come to a complete stop, say goodbye to 1000 extra points.

I also couldn't believe I made the last 2000 before the goal ring work. Normally, I would grind on the rail allowing me to quickly jump and homing attack to the platform with the turtle. Since I missed the rail here, I had to hope that ground momentum would be enough for me to jump and homing attack over to the platform. If you need to hammer hover to reach it, there will not be enough time to defeat the turtle and complete the combo.
