🇮🇹 Erice è arroccata in cima al Monte San Giuliano. Fondata, come la vicina Segesta, da Enea e compagni in fuga da Troia nel IX secolo a.C., divenne presto un importante centro religioso e politico della Sicilia Occidentale. Qui, dall'unione degli esuli di Troia con la popolazione locale, si formò la etnia degli Elimi, che condivise la gestione del territorio e del potere con Cartaginesi, Romani e Bizantini. Poi fu la volta di Arabi, Normanni, Spagnoli, Borboni, Piemontesi...

San Vito Lo Capo, ai piedi del Monte Monaco, nasce alla fine del '700 in una zona abitata sin dall'epoca Paleolitica. Centro di importanza religiosa, attirava pellegrini e fedeli richiamati dalla fama e dalle reliquie di San Vito, morto martire nel 299. Oggi il paese vive di agricoltura, pesca e soprattutto di turismo, grazie alle splendide spiagge e zone naturali che lo circondano. La più celebre fra queste è la Riserva dello Zingaro, il cui territorio ricade in parte nel comune di Castellammare del Golfo e in parte nel comune di San Vito Lo Capo; si estende lungo 7 km di costa e copre quasi 1.700 ettari di natura incontaminata.
