The story of Yajuj and Majuj (Gog and Magog) is one of the most terrifying and significant narratives in Islamic eschatology, marking one of the Major Signs of the Day of Judgment (Qiyamah). This video provides a comprehensive and chilling detailed account of who these tribes are, where they came from, how they were trapped, and the prophesied destruction they will unleash upon the world in the End Times.
The Origins of Yajuj and Majuj
According to Islamic tradition and Hadith, Yajuj and Majuj are two ancient, corrupted tribes descended from the lineage of Japheth, the son of Nuh (Noah). They are described not as supernatural monsters, but as human beings possessing immense strength, savagery, and numbers so vast that they are compared to the ripples of the ocean. Their existence predates recorded modern history, characterized by their chaotic nature and their spreading of corruption (Fasad) across the land. They would descend upon innocent civilizations, pillaging, destroying, and killing without remorse. Their sheer numbers are emphasized in narrations stating that on the Day of Judgment, the vast majority of those sent to Hellfire will be from these two tribes, highlighting their overwhelming population compared to the rest of humanity.
The Intervention of Dhul-Qarnayn
The Quran, specifically in Surah Al-Kahf (The Cave), recounts the story of Dhul-Qarnayn, a just and powerful ruler who traveled the Earth establishing justice. During his travels to the East, he encountered a people living between two mountain barriers who could barely understand his speech. These people were being terrorized by the relentless attacks of Yajuj and Majuj. Desperate for safety, they offered to pay Dhul-Qarnayn a tribute if he would build a barrier between them and the savage tribes.
Dhul-Qarnayn, being a righteous leader empowered by Allah, refused the tribute but agreed to help them using his God-given knowledge and manpower. He engineered a wall unlike any other. He asked the people to bring blocks of iron, piling them up until they filled the gap between the two mountains. He then heated the iron until it glowed like fire and poured molten copper over it. This fused the materials together, creating an alloy so smooth that Yajuj and Majuj could not climb it, and so hard they could not tunnel through it. This containment has held for centuries, keeping the world safe from their brutality.
The Release and Global Devastation
The release of Yajuj and Majuj will trigger a humanitarian crisis of unimaginable scale. They will move with such speed and density that the first of their columns will pass by Lake Tiberias (the Sea of Galilee) and drink from it. By the time the last of their columns arrives, the lake will be completely dry, and they will say, "There used to be water here."
The earth will be covered with their decaying corpses, creating a stench so foul that it becomes uninhabitable. Prophet Isa (AS) will pray again, and Allah will send birds with necks like camels to carry the bodies away and throw them where Allah wills. Following this, Allah will send a cleansing rain that washes the earth completely, leaving it clean and fertile like a mirror. The world will then enter a period of unprecedented peace and blessings, where the earth produces its produce in abundance, marking the final chapter of humanity before the blowing of the trumpet.
Why This Story Matters
The narrative of Yajuj and Majuj is not just a horror story; it is a reminder of the power of Allah and the inevitability of the Day of Judgment. It serves as a warning against corruption and arrogance and highlights the importance of faith and prayer (Dua) in the face of insurmountable odds. It teaches believers that no matter how powerful an evil force may seem, true power belongs only to the Creator.
