Welcome to our Rohtang Pass travel vlog! Rohtang Pass is one of the most famous tourist spots near Manali, Himachal Pradesh, and we couldn’t miss visiting it on our trip. This mountain pass is known for its breathtaking views, snow-covered peaks, and thrilling drive. Since two-wheelers are not allowed here, we booked a taxi to make the journey. The entire road is maintained by BRO (Border Roads Organisation), so it’s in excellent condition considering the altitude — smooth, safe, and perfect for a scenic drive.

To visit Rohtang Pass, you must have a Rohtang Pass permit. You can easily get this online or from the checkpoint on the way. We managed to get our permit at the checkpoint itself, but we highly recommend getting it online beforehand to save time and avoid delays.

The check gate opens at 6 AM, so starting early is very important if you want to avoid long traffic lines. By the time we reached, we saw a line of cars waiting to go up, so plan to leave as early as possible for a smoother experience.

Tourist vehicles are allowed only up to a certain point. From there, you have the option to walk or take an ATV ride to go further ahead. We chose the ATV, which cost us ₹2000 for a round trip (a fixed price as informed by the driver). Riding an ATV on the snowy, rugged terrain was such an exciting and unique experience — definitely a must-try when you visit Rohtang Pass!

This trip was filmed in mid-May, and it’s one of the best times to visit Rohtang Pass if you want to enjoy snow-capped mountains without extreme cold. ❄️
