After a rough few months my wife and I had a nice weekend getaway in the Pecos just outside of Las Vegas, NM. Writing music and getting into nature are a great way for me to get grounded again, so I took a guitar with me. I had a muse and a co-writer within 10 minutes of arriving in the form of a large grandmother cottonwood 40 feet from our back sitting area. On the opposite side her huge roots were exposed to provide some seating next to a beautiful acequia. I found her to be a generous co-writer. She provided a calm presence, but below the bark she was a bit snarky with a dark sense of humor. It was a great experience getting to know her.
