A look into the process of creating a mango juice bottle

The journey of a mango juice bottle begins not with the juice itself, but with a small, test-tube-like piece of plastic called a preform. These preforms are made from a type of plastic called PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate).

The fascinating transformation from a tiny tube to a full-sized bottle is done through a process called stretch blow molding. Here's how it generally works:


Heating: The preform is first loaded into a machine and heated to a specific temperature, making the plastic soft and pliable. The neck of the preform is kept cool to maintain its shape for the future bottle cap.


Stretching & Blowing: The softened preform is placed into a bottle-shaped mold. A rod stretches it vertically, and then a blast of high-pressure air is blown into the preform. The air forces the soft plastic to expand outward, conforming to the exact shape of the mold.


Cooling & Ejection: The mold is rapidly cooled, which solidifies the plastic into its new bottle form. The mold then opens, and the perfectly formed, transparent bottle is ejected, ready to be filled with delicious mango juice.


This process ensures that each bottle is consistent in shape and size, and is strong enough to hold the liquid and withstand the filling and capping process.
